Assessor addresses complaints in update to Arcade Town Board at monthly meeting

ARCADE, N.Y. – Last Tuesday, the Town of Arcade Board Members held their monthly meeting.

The March  21 meeting included business discussions on the following topics:

-Brian Meyers joined the Traffic Safety Committee. The board had previously advertised the vacancy before Meyers was appointed by the Town of Arcade. His position still has to be run by the county for approval. With Meyers being a village resident and a fire chief with the Arcade Fire Department, as well as the fire coordinator with Wyoming County, the board felt Meyers had the experience to fill the position.

-There was an update on the complaints noted during the February Arcade Town Board meeting regarding the town assessor, James Kirsch. Kirsch reported he had sent a letter to the board in response to the complaints addressing the issues. He also reported that he reached out to each person who spoke during the February meeting to further talk about his assessment.Kirsch advised that any other issues or complaints should be filed with the Grievance Board for further action. No other complaint had been sent to the board as of the meeting.
